The Bible

Ta'n Chiarn ny Ree as er choyrt mysh coamrey gloyroil: ta'n Chiarn er choyrt er e gharmad, as er choamrey eh-hene lesh niart.

The Lord is King, and hath put on glorious apparel: the Lord hath put on his apparel, and girded himself with strength.

T'eh er yannoo yn seihll runt cha shickyr: nagh vod eh v'er ny scughey.

He hath made the round world so sure: that it cannot be moved.

Rieau er dy hoshiaght y theihll ta dty stoyl er ny hoiaghey seose: t'ou uss veih dy bragh.

Ever since the world began hath thy seat been prepared: thou art from everlasting:

Ta ny thooillaghyn er hroggal, O Hiarn, ta ny thooillaghyn er hroggal seose nyn goraa: ta ny thooillaghyn er hroggal seose ny tonnyn oc.

The floods are risen, O Lord, the floods have lift up their voice: the floods lift up their waves.

Ta tonnyn ny marrey niartal, as jannoo feiyr atchimagh: agh ny-yeih ta'n Chiarn, ta cummal er yn yrjid, ny s'niartal.

The waves of the sea are mighty, and rage horribly: but yet the Lord, who dwelleth on high, is mightier.

Thy testimonies, O Lord, are very sure: holiness becometh thine house for ever.
